Butler macmaster11/18/2023 ![]() Richard was predeceased by both of his parents, and by his brother, Robert Butler of Claremont, NH. Richard especially loved spending time with his family and friends. He was very generous and loved spending his free time driving veterans to the VA hospitals for their appointments. He was active in the Monadnock Rod and Gun Club in Peterborough, the American Legion of Jaffrey, and the Eastern Massachusetts Beagle Club of Ashburnham. He was known for his love of traveling, especially to Alaska and Brazil for fishing. In his free time, Richard was an avid hunter and fisherman. Richard also spent 18 years working as a rural mail carrier in Jaffrey until his retirement in 2002. He worked for over 10 years in the FAA as an air traffic controller. Following his service in the military, he worked for various airlines as a customer service representative and as an aircraft dispatcher. ![]() He went on to enlist in the United States Air Force, serving from 1956 until 1961 up until he was honorably discharged. Richard joined and proudly served in the Army National Guard in September of 1954. Richard was a longtime resident of Jaffrey, having attended local schools and graduated from Conant High School class of 1955. ![]() Richard was born on August 25, 1937, in Peterborough, NH, a son of the late Carl A. Richard Alfred Butler, 84, of Jaffrey, passed away peacefully in Jaffrey Rehabilitation and Nursing Center on Thursday, June 30, 2022.
